Global CLI Reference
Reference documentation for shared commands, global configuration, and shell completion across the unified Explita CLI
The explita unified binary acts as the root command-line interface for the entire Explita infrastructure suite. It provides shared commands for global configuration, shell completion, and versioning, while routing product subcommands to dedicated subsystem engines.
explita [command] [options]1. Subsystem Binaries & Aliases
Explita provides both the unified explita dispatcher and lightweight, dedicated binaries for each product:
| Product | Dedicated Binary | Unified Command | Dedicated CLI Docs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Explita Deploy | eda | explita deploy [subcommand] | Deploy CLI Reference |
| Explita Tunnel | eta | explita tunnel [options] | Tunnel CLI Reference |
Both invocations share the same runtime configuration, authentication context, and flags.
2. Global Flags
These flags can be passed to the root explita command or any product binary:
| Flag | Shorthand | Description |
|---|---|---|
--help | -h | Display usage instructions, available subcommands, and flags. |
--version | -v | Print installed CLI version and build commit. |
explita --version
explita --help3. Unified Configuration (explita config)
Manage global configurations shared across all Explita products. Global configuration is stored in ~/.explita/config.json.
explita config [subcommand]Subcommands
# List all active unified configuration across products
explita config
explita config ls
# Retrieve a specific configuration key
explita config get <key>
# Update a configuration value
explita config set <key> <value>
# Print the filesystem path to the global configuration file
explita config pathConfiguration Namespaces
Settings are namespaced by product:
| Namespace Key | Product | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
deploy.server | Deploy | Control plane API endpoint | http://vps-ip:39756 |
deploy.token | Deploy | Server bearer authentication token | sec_98f4a... |
tunnel.server | Tunnel | Ingress edge server host | tunnel.explita.ng |
tunnel.token | Tunnel | Account tunnel token | tk_tunnel_abc... |
tunnel.email | Tunnel | Associated developer email | [email protected] |
Examples
# Set default Deploy server endpoint
explita config set deploy.server https://deploy.myteam.internal
# Set global Deploy authentication token
explita config set deploy.token secret-deploy-token-12345
# Set custom self-hosted Tunnel gateway endpoint
explita config set tunnel.server wss://tunnel.myteam.internal/_connect
# View the full unified configuration
explita config ls[!NOTE] Zero-Disk Passcode Security: Secondary security passcodes and PINs (
DEPLOY_PASSCODE) are never stored in configuration files. They are known strictly to the operator in memory and entered interactively (🔑 Enter deploy passcode / PIN:) or supplied per-command via--pass <pin>.
4. Shell Autocompletion (explita completion)
Generate fast tab-completion scripts for your active shell, supporting subcommands, dynamic options, and flags.
explita completion [bash|zsh|fish|powershell]Zsh Setup
# Append to ~/.zshrc
explita completion zsh >> ~/.zshrc
source ~/.zshrcBash Setup
# Append to ~/.bashrc (requires bash-completion)
explita completion bash >> ~/.bashrc
source ~/.bashrcFish Setup
# Save to fish completions directory
explita completion fish > ~/.config/fish/completions/explita.fishPowerShell (Windows)
# Append to PowerShell Profile ($PROFILE)
explita completion powershell | Out-String | Invoke-Expression5. Product-Specific CLI References
